Shabba moves on from Downs defeat

Siphiwe Tshabalala insists he and his Kaizer Chiefs team-mates have already flushed the recent 1-0 defeat by Mamelodi Sundowns out of their systems.

The Bafana Bafana star rued Amakhosi’s failure to convert the numerous chances they created during a fiercely if not evenly contested clash before conceding “a soft goal.”

“We played a good game against Sundowns and we were unfortunate to concede a soft goal. We had a lot of chances but we could not make them count. It is football and it happens,” Shabba said.

Chan post2Chiefs’ focus now shifts to the midweek clash against Mpumalanga Black Aces as Stuart Baxter’s table toppers look to re-establish their three-point lead over Sundowns.

Tshabalala is relishing the enthralling season run-in with all signs pointing to a title race that promises to go down to the wire.

“Now we are focused on the match we have to play on Wednesday against Black Aces,” said the Chiefs star. “We know that they are also on a good run so it makes our challenge even harder. But we are preparing well and should get the required results if we keep focused.

“The league is getting interesting and it is exciting for all of us including all the teams in the PSL. But we are focused and the journey continues.”
