Siphiwe Tshabalala amongst dignitaries like the honorable minister of sports Mr Fikile Mbalula gathered at the Standard Bank Arena in Johannesburg to attend the memorial service for the late Senzo Meyiwa.
Shabba says that the unfortunate loss of the Bafana Bafana and Orlando Pirates goalkeeper has left the country with a big gap but is positive that those that remain can learn from what he achieved.
“Look, it is definitely a loss for the country as a whole. As much as we are saddened by the passing of Senzo, we can also learn from what he achieved in his career,” Shabba said.
He added that every aspiring athlete and current ones should draw inspiration from Meyiwa’s achievements and the character that he was as a person.
“The energy and character that Meyiwa had were next to none. I think that if we as professionals and the aspiring youth draw inspiration from the example he set, we can make it further in life and in our respective careers. Senzo will be missed and he leaves behind a track that we can follow as professionals.”
