The derby and Shabba

Siphiwe Tshabalala looks set to feature in his 20th Soweto derby when Kaizer Chiefs take on bitter rivals Orlando Pirates on Saturday.

The Amakhosi play-maker has played in 19 derbies between Chiefs and Pirates since the 2007/2008 season, experiencing three wins, seven draws and three losses.

Shabba played 90 minutes on six occasions and featured from the bench seven times. The 29-year old-will be hoping to add to his modest tally of two goals in the Soweto derby.

The derby is without a doubt the most anticipated match in South Africa and the brilliant talent on display, such as Shabba’s, add to the attractiveness of the rivalry between two of the country’s most decorated sides.

Kaizer Chiefs take on Orlando Pirates on Saturday March 15 at the FNB Stadium. The kick-off is at 15:30pm.
