Chiefs played a 1-1 draw against Polokwane City on Tuesday evening in an Absa Premiership match. A goal from Puleng Tlolane cancelled out the opening goal from Eric Mathoho.
“Look it is always difficult when you have to play with a lot of opposing teams. We are the defending champions and they always make it a point to make things hard for us. This is part of the game and we try our level best to get positive results.
It is still the beginning of the season and we have not lost yet. Yes we have dropped a few points but keep in mind that we have not lost and that is on its own a positive thing. We will get by, it is not a ttain smash,” Shabba concluded.
]]>We started with a bang and we must finish in that manner. Our final game is against Chippa United. They are a credible team that has done well. We will not be doing them any favors as we are champions and must behave as such.
The plan was to take every game as a final and indeed the remaining one is a final. The team is ready for action and it should be an interesting match. The defeat against Bidvest Wits is in the past and we are confident that we will finish with a win.
I scored a beautiful free-kick against Wits. Someone asked me if I practice taking set pieces and the answer is yes. As a midfielder that is part of your artillery. I am just happy that I am executing them correctly and scoring goals.
We will throw the last punch of what has been a successful season on Saturday. I hope that the Amakhosi nation will come out in numbers to support us and create a beautiful atmosphere to remember.
The venue is the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium and the fixture is Kaizer Chiefs vs Chippa United. Kick-off time is at 15:00. Our time is now. Amakhosi for Life!!
]]>It is said that Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark. This may apply in different ways to different people. We are preparing for the CAF Champions League clash against Raja Casablanca on Sunday and our faith shall carry us through.
With that being said please enjoy the long weekend and be safe on the roads. Happy Easter to everyone! #K4L
]]>Shabba wrote his name in the history books when he scored that memorable goal during the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the first time the tournament was held on African soil.
But there is more to Tshabalala than the talented footballer. Through the Siphiwe Tshabalala Foundation and as a budding businessman the midfielder hopes to live a lasting legacy.
He said: “It has been a wonderful journey for me regarding being a football player and I cannot wish for anything better than this. I love what I do and it is a dream come true for me.
“But now my dream is becoming more than just a reality. It is now my mission to give back to the community and ensure a brighter future for those after me. Football helped me to grow and learn as a person.
“I am now a business man and I have a Foundation that aims to provide the youth of South Africa with opportunities, whether it be building libraries or providing schools with sports equipment.
“I want to help the less privileged so that they can realise that there is a lot they can do in the world. They must realise that dreams do come true if you believe and work at them. I am a good example. I also grew up playing in the dusty roads of Soweto but look at me now. It is possible and with the help of those who care, together we can give the youth of South Africa a brighter future.”
]]>The Kaizer Chiefs playmaker is firmly believes that the team is bigger than the individual and is therefore happy to sacrifice personal glory for the good of the team.
Quite clearly Shabba’s value is measured by his overall contributions to the cause, not just goals. Last season the Bafana Bafana star weighed in with 18 assists in all competitions.
“As I prepare for the new season I always keep in mind the fact that it is not always about me scoring the goals and taking the glory. I am happy to help my team mates score goals. At the end of the day we are all working towards the same objective,” he said.
“I think that even the greatest players in the world have been praised for providing balls that create goal scoring opportunities. Xabi Alonso, Xavi Hernandez, Andries Eniesta, all assist in the creation of goals and they are famous for it.
“In the upcoming season I will be look to do the same. Hopefully I will help the team avoid a repeat of last season where we finished without a trophy. Assisting is as good as scoring,” concluded Shabba.
]]>He was a friend, a brother, a father, a husband, a nation’s hero and an icon in his own respect. May your soul rest in peace. We shall never forget you.

]]>Despite Bafana Bafana failing to qualify, Shabba believes Africa will still have a strong representation at the tournament.
“I personally would like to see an African team do well. To put it out there I support the African teams that are going to represent the continent in the World Cup.
“Brazil stands a chance of winning because they are the hot favorites and they have a good technical team. Even though they have home advantage, they still have to play and compete for the honours.
“There will be a lot of competition as many teams have improved significantly since the last World Cup in South Africa.”
African teams that will be taking part in the 2014 Brazil FIFA World Cup are as follows:
1. Algeria: They topped their qualifier group and then went on to beat Burkina Faso 1-0 at home after they lost 3-2 away in the first leg. They qualified through the away goal rule. Their last world cup appearance was in South Africa in 2010 where they failed to progress from the group stages. They are ranked 25th in the world.
2. Cameroon: The Indomitable Lions qualified after beating Tunisia 4-1 in the return leg after they managed a goalless draw in the first play-off match. They have made 6 appearances in the history of the world cup and are currently ranked 50th in the world.
3. Nigeria: Ranked 44 in the world Nigeria have made 4 appearances in the history of the world cup. Unbeaten in the group stages of the qualifier they went on to defeat Ethiopia 4-1 on aggregate to secure a place in the world cup.

It was a day full of learning and tons of fun. Siphiwe Tshabalala was part of the outing and indeed he is almost as good at golfing as he is on the field of play.
]]>Shabba featured in 29 matches for AmaKhosi in the PSL 2013/2014 season and contributed 12 assists as Chiefs finished second in the league.
He also played part in three African CAF Champions League matches, two MTN 8 fixtures and three additional appearances in the Telkom Knockout competition, finding the back of the net three competitions in the cup competitions.
“I think I had a good season though I know I could have done better. I do not regret anything though as I played my part in the team and for the nation. There was a lot of effort given and a little break would be appreciated,” said Tshabalala.
Tshabalala also revealed that he played through the pain barrier for the season run-in after picking up a toe injury.
“I suffered a toe injury towards the end of the season and obviously that does affect the way I play,” he said. “It was fortunate that I could at least see the season till the end.
“Now I have to take time off and nurse all the blows I suffered during the course of last season. The plan is to recuperate and make sure that I am ready for a super season in the PSL 2014/2015 addition.”
