Shabba: King’s Cup will be a test
Siphiwe Tshabalala says that the Kings’s Cup will be a good test for the newly formed Kaizer Chiefs squad since pre-season began.
Chiefs have reshuffled their coaching staff with the inclusion of Steve Komphela and have signed seven players. The reigning champions are set to take part in the King’s Cup in Swaziland on the 18 July 2015.
“The King’s Cup will be a test for the team. We are preparing for the upcoming season and we need such a tournament to get us into the competitive environment. As much as it is pre-season, we are taking it very serious,” Shabba says.
The Chiefs midfielder says that the new guys in the squad will definitely add value and strengthen the team.
“Change is imminent and therefore cannot be avoided. So what is important is that we do our best to combine the talents we have in order to build a strong team,” concluded Shabba.
Mbabane Swallows in the semifinals before Orlando Pirates play Royal Leopards. The two Soweto giants may meet should they win their encounters with the Swaziland teams. It will be a match many will anticipate keeping in mind that 19 days later Pirates and Chiefs will clash in the prestigious Carling Black Label Cup.
