Shabba: Victory is ours but we are not done
“The fight has been won but the battle is not over” are the words of Siphiwe Tshabalala after Kaizer Chiefs beat Polokwane City at the FNBStadium on Wednesday evening.
Amakhosi have numerically secured the Absa Premiership title with three games to spare. Their victory over Polokwane City elevates the team to 63 points on the log. Mamelodi Sundowns can only reach 60 points should they win the rest of their matches and they were the only other team that could try to challenge for the title. This confirms Chiefs as the winners of the league.
Shabba says although the team has won the league, they must be careful not to become complacent before the league is complete.
“Yes we have crossed the line. It feels great to know that we have achieved our goal and our fans are happy. This though must not get to our heads. The league is not finished and we have to see it through. This means that we have to stay grounded and finish what we started since the beginning of the season.”
