Heads up for the derby
It sure was great to bring back home three points from a difficult away match. The win against Bidvest Wits has given the team a boost of confidence and the team spirit is high.
Now that this game is history, we turn our focus to the Soweto Derby. No time to rest as we need to prepare for what is a big game and one that most of the football loving supporters look forward to.
The team now sits eleven points ahead of the rest on the league table. As much as it may be a lead, it really means little for now. We have to keep working hard and try to even do better than we have been doing.
It is great to have some of the players back from injury. Last night Bernard Parker found the back of the net twice, congratulations to him for making a super return. George Maluleka also played a full game or at least more than 80 minutes. All the players who were with Bafana are also fit and doing well. It is only a few players who need to recover and we wish them a speedy recovery.
Looking ahead of the match against Orlando Pirates, it will definitely not be a walk in the park. We know that they have not been doing great but that counts for nothing as they are a formidable side. We have to give them the utmost respect.
We have played Pirates 30 times in all competitions since 2007 and have beaten them 10 times compared to the seven times that they have defeated us. There have been thirteen draws in total.
We would surely love to avoid another draw as we continue collecting point’s one match at a time.
I know that the support for this game is huge and we will try to make all of the Amakhosi supporters proud. Woza Saturday, Woza Soweto derby. We are Forever Fearless!!
