Shabba: Sundowns will not stop us
Siphiwe Tshabalala has revealed that Kaizer Chiefs are looking to continue on their winning form when they face Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday at the FNB Stadium.
Last season Amakhosi lost to Sundowns at home and went on to win the return leg of the fixture in Pretoria. Both matches ended with a 1-0 score-line in favor of each team.
They have met 24 times in all competitions since 2005. Chiefs have won eleven times compared to just eight wins by Sundowns with the remaining five matches ending in stalemates.
Tshabalala says it will not be an easy task to defeat Sundowns but it is a job that has to be done. He insists that this season Chiefs are on form and are motivated to win most, if not all of their matches, one game at a time.
“It is a big one on Saturday. It will not be an easy match to play for both teams but for us it is a job that we have to complete successfully.
“We have played to the best of our ability this season and we are confident that we can keep doing so. When we prepare for games we do not choose which opponent is worthy or not. All teams are the same and that includes Sundowns. We want to keep winning and we will do just that on Saturday,” says Shabba.
