Talent and experience key to good start
Kaizer Chiefs are riding the crest of a wave because they have a squad teeming with talent and experience, according to Siphiwe Tshabalala.
The Glamour Boys have not put a foot wrong in the PSL campaign this season. They boast a hundred per cent record after five matches to sit comfortably at the top of the table.
“The team is loaded with experienced and talented players,” said Shabba. “We have been playing well and the results have been positive. That is a good thing because it allows us to kill two birds with one stone.
“We are improving as players because of the determination and it then gives the coach a lot of options.”
Chiefs duo Mandla Masango and Eric Mathoho were rewarded for their excellent form with call-ups to the national squad for the 2015 AFCON qualifying double header against Sudan and Nigeria.
Masango and Stuart Baxter were also named player and coach of the month respectively.
Tshabalala added: “It is also evident that the players are doing well. Mandla Masango has just won the player of the month and was called-up to the national team.
“Eric Mathoho also received a call-up and represented well at national level. There are a lot of experienced players like Reneilwe Letsolonyane, Tsepo Masilela and George Maluleka who have been playing well and help the others want to do the same.
“Congratulations to Masango and the coach as well for their awards. I am happy that all the players in the team are raising the bar and that can only be good for the team.”
