Shabba wary of wounded Dikwena
Siphiwe Tshabalala says previous results will count for nothing when Kaizer Chiefs take on Platinum Stars for the third time this season.
Chiefs triumphed 2-0 and 3-0 over Stars in the first and second leg of the MTN8 semi-final respectively earlier this month.
Amakhosi will be looking to continue their recent dominance over Dikwena when the two rivals clash in the league at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium on Wednesday.
“We as football lovers know that there is a difference between league and cup games,” said Shabba.
“This upcoming match will be one that we need to treat as a normal league match. This means it will be tougher as both teams will be looking to secure maximum points.
“Dikwena will also be looking to exact revenge. So we are playing a wounded team and that is dangerous.”
Shabba hopes that playing away from home so soon after a crucial fixture and with one eye on the next match on Saturday will not affect the players negatively.
“We will be away from home and that is always a challenge,” he added. “The home team always give an extra effort to win their home games which makes it twice as hard for us.
“I know that we are professionals but we are also human. Travelling and playing in a short space of time has its own effects. So taking all this into consideration, it will be a tough match.”
