Shabba welcomes end-of-season break
Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Siphiwe Tshabalala is looking forward to some much-needed rest after a long and grueling season.
Shabba featured in 29 matches for AmaKhosi in the PSL 2013/2014 season and contributed 12 assists as Chiefs finished second in the league.
He also played part in three African CAF Champions League matches, two MTN 8 fixtures and three additional appearances in the Telkom Knockout competition, finding the back of the net three competitions in the cup competitions.
“I think I had a good season though I know I could have done better. I do not regret anything though as I played my part in the team and for the nation. There was a lot of effort given and a little break would be appreciated,” said Tshabalala.
Tshabalala also revealed that he played through the pain barrier for the season run-in after picking up a toe injury.
“I suffered a toe injury towards the end of the season and obviously that does affect the way I play,” he said. “It was fortunate that I could at least see the season till the end.
“Now I have to take time off and nurse all the blows I suffered during the course of last season. The plan is to recuperate and make sure that I am ready for a super season in the PSL 2014/2015 addition.”
