Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana star Siphiwe Tshabalala continues to play a huge role in the lives of young South Africans through the Siphiwe Tshabalala Foundation.

Tshabalala aims to empower the youth by providing them with social life skills, encouraging self-development and offering education and other opportunities.

The foundation has already traveled to schools in North West¸ Limpopo and Gauteng, including the player’s own childhood high school, Seana Marena High School in Soweto. They also offer bursaries to learners for tertiary education as an opportunity to further their education and enrich their lives.

Japanese luxury car brand Lexus are official sponsors of the Siphiwe Tshabalala Foundation and have recently provided the Kaizer Chiefs star with a Lexus vehicle to support the initiative behind the foundation.

Shabba, as he is affectionately known in the football fraternity, says he is grateful to Lexus for supporting his foundation and what he is trying to do for his country. He also plans to grow the foundation so that it reaches and touches as many lives as possible.

“The foundation is doing well and I am happy to see a sponsor like Lexus supporting the cause. Their support is great and I hope that we can build a fruitful relationship going forward,” Shabba said.

He added: “I want to give back to the community and help the youth realise their dreams and actually have hope in a brighter future. Everything has to start somewhere and this for me is a start of a foundation that will hopefully grow to make a difference in the country and in the lives of many young people.”
