Shabba’s troops having it hard in CAF
High flying Kaizer Chiefs where humbled by a 3-0 loss to AS Vita-Club in Kinshasa (DRC) during the weekend.
Siphiwe Tshabalala captained the side in the absence of Itumeleng Khune and was unfortunate to end the match on the losing side.
Chiefs began their CAF Champions League with a bang when they defeated Black Africa 4-1 on aggregate. Then they went on to exercise their power with a 7-0 drubbing off Mozambican club Liga Muculmana.
With team mate and Captain Itumeleng Khune still recovering, the side from Naturena conceded three goals on the away leg.
Should AmaKhosi fail to win the return leg by four goals to no response from AS Vita, they will drop to the CAF Confederations Cup.
On the team news:
It is likely that Chiefs will be without its new signings should they progress in the CAF Champions League. It is alleged that the CAF registration will be changed from the date (July 1 to August 10), to (May 16).
In the occasion that those changes happen, Shabba’s side will not be able to register the new players in Katlego Mphela, Gourge Maluleka and others.
