Tshabalala foresees a bright future
Bafana Bafana International Siphiwe Tshabalala will be expecting a dream start to his 2013/2014 Absa Premiership League as the football holiday break draws closer to an end.
A fist of Premiership action matches and international duties await the Soweto born footballer as Kaizer Chiefs FC will look to continue defending their title. On Tshabalala’s other palm will be the demand of a Nation’s call to ignite a quenched torch with expectations of winning the African Nations Championship.
With a well-deserved break ‘Shabba’ should feel recharged and ready to take the sharp edge of the knife with confidence.
“I trust that with the break we had, all my team mates including me are rested and well fueled for the second half of the league. We finished the first half on top of the log and that shows our intent on defending our title,” Shabba said.
“We have a tough challenge added on top of the domestic league with the CAF Champions League early stages. I just hope that we can play well and go as far as possible regarding that competition and at the same time be able to win the PSL honors.”
Vision and goals are the coal that fuels the gravy train and the 29 year old shares his goals for the infant 2014.
“I went into the holiday break injury free and I enjoyed spending time with my family. I really hope that I stay injury free for the rest of the season and that is my biggest concern. It would also be great to win a double in the league and the CAF competition as hard as that may sound,” the player emphasized.
The CHAN competition takes place from the 11 January 2014 and will be hosted in South Africa. The Kaizer Chiefs midfielder was named in national team coach Gorden Igesund’s squad and is looking forward to usher Bafana to a victory.
“Regarding the CHAN i think it is a must that we win the competition and give joy to the nation. This is our chance to prove that we are a competitive country,” concluded Tshabalala.
