Shabba: Baxter’s impact immense

So many people associated with Kaizer Chiefs have made significant contributions to the cause during what has been a great season and one to remember.

We are at the business end of the campaign and find ourselves in a position where we are challenging for silverware on two fronts.

Despite recent setbacks, we are still very much in the hunt for the ABSA Premier League title. We are also just two wins away from defending our Nedbank Cup title.

Absa Premiership: Kaizer Chiefs v Maritzburg UnitedWe are in this exciting position because of the tremendous efforts of the players, staff, grounds man and supporters.

But one man who has held it all together and made it possible is coach Stuart Baxter. The man is a tactical genius and I don’t think he has been given the credit he deserves.

When we win the plaudits often go to the players, but rarely to the coach for coming up with the right game plan or for making astute substitutions during key stages in a match.

Baxter is a thorough taskmaster who leaves nothing to chance. The players go into matches knowing what is expected of them, each and every one of us. The team he puts out reflects his winning mentality.

It is not easy to perform at a consistently high level the way we have done all season. Credit must go to the coach for keeping us focused from one match to the next.

We will be looking to carry our Nedbank Cup moment into the next league match against Polokwane City when we will be hoping to return to winning ways after two uncharacteristic defeats on the spin.

Bring on Polokwane City!

Lovely comment.. you have also contributed so much. Well done please guide George Lebese and Mandla Masango tell them both are not far from Musona and Billiat. They are also both match winners.. infact Lebese can play like Neymar.. Masango can play like Musona he used to play like that at under 23
